Raphael Varane has fallen out of favour at Manchester United and as per reports, Bayern Munich are now interested in signing him.

The Frenchman started this season as the first-choice central defender but as the months have rolled along, the World Cup winner has fallen down the pecking order. Right now, Erik ten Hag is preferring Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans as his first-choice central defensive pairing while Varane is warming the benches.

Varane’s downfall has been sudden and unexpected and immediately Bayern are thinking of swooping in and bringing him on board.

The discussions however are at a very nasant stage and as per rumours, a move for the 30-year-old has just been discussed internally.

Will Raphael Varane leave Man United?

There’s no official explanation as to why Raphael Varane is not getting starts and reports are suggesting that Man United are not against the idea of selling the defender in January.

The 30-year-old has started only four Premier League games this season and he’s also become very injury prone since moving to England so it’s not a shock that Ten Hag is ready to dump him. At the same time, Harry Maguire has won back his manager’s trust which means

However, there’s no way the manager is going to sell him off at the start of the new year.

Lisandro Martinez is out for a couple of months while Jonny Evans has just picked up an injury which is going to keep him on the sidelines until the end of December. So, in such a scenario, the manager won’t risk selling Raphael Varane, that too to a Champions League rival.

Yes, Harry Maguire is doing very well but Man United have also been unlucky with injuries which is why ETH will not want to thin out his squad by selling Varane in January.

There have been whispers in the English media that Raphael Varane is ready to fight for his place so there’s no way Bayern Munich will be able to sign him during the middle of the season.
