Next Newcastle United manager Unai Emery Villarreal

Unai Emery was brought in to replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal and his first job last season was to bring back Champions League football to the club.

The Gunners finished fifth in the league and also failed to win the Europa League final vs Chelsea which means they will once again be missing out on the Champions League.

But a promising summer transfer window has brought back a lot of positiveness amongst the fans of the clubs as Unai Emery has made it a point to bring in reinforcements for almost every department of the pitch.

From making big money signings(Nicolas Pepe) to bringing youngsters(Kieran Tierney) on board, the Spanish boss has worked really hard on making Arsenal a big name again.

But according to former Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan, Unai Emery is not the right man for the job at the Emirates.

Jordan told Press Box(as reported by the Mirror): “I’ve got this image in my mind of Unai Emery, thinking that there is something about him. But maybe there just isn’t?

“Because I have got Sevilla in my mind and the Europa League and what he has done there, but maybe there just isn’t.

“I think there’s a plan, but when I see transactions like Luiz I think ‘no, there is not a plan’.

“The press were going ‘Who has had the best transfer window? Maybe Arsenal have’.

“Anybody with half a brain, with respect, looks at David Luiz and says ‘Why do you want that in your dressing room, as a centre-half, when you’ve got a defensive unit that’s not a unit?’

“He’s a flat-track bully at best, we saw him fall apart for Brazil, he’s lightweight and a show pony.”

Yes, Unai Emery did not have the best of times while he was in charge of PSG for two years but his Sevilla success speaks otherwise.

The Spaniard made his name while managing the La Liga side where he went on to win multiple Europa League trophies so unlike the Oles and Lampards, it will be really tough to make Unai Emery the scapegoat so easily.

And for a club who have not won the Premier League for so many years, they have no other option but to have patience and faith on Unai Emery.
