Manchester City are planning a summer overhaul and according to reports, as many as five first-team players will be put up for sale, including Jack Grealish.

Man City have been knocked out of the Champions League so their dream of a double treble has evaporated however, they are still in line to win the Premier League as well as the FA Cup.

Guardiola is someone who’s constantly on the lookout for new talent and the manager reportedly wants to freshen up his squad before the 2024/25 season. The report claims Jack Grealish, Stefan Ortega, Kalvin Phillips, Bernardo Silva and Kevin de Bruyne are the ones who could leave.

Football Insider is also claiming that Manchester City will now listen to offers for Jack Grealish and looking at the underwhelming season that the England international has had, it’s hardly a surprise that Pep wants to get rid of him.

Also, Man City have signed Jeremy Doku so losing Jack Grealish won’t hurt their plans even one bit.

Similarly, Ortega and Kalvin Phillips are useless to Guardiola’s plans and Pep will be more than happy to see them leave the club in the summer.

However, it’s very hard to see Bernardo Silva and Kevin De Bruyne both leave in the same transfer window. Silva has been linked with an exit with clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid wanting to sign him and as per the rumours, the midfielder wants a fresh challenge and has his heart set on moving to Spain.

Pep will obviously try and convince Silva to stay but if a good enough offer comes in then the manager won’t mind losing him either. He’s very well covered in the midfield department having players like Phil Foden.

KDB is also ageing and this season, he’s become a bit injury-prone but there’s no way that Guardiola will sanction his sale. De Bruyne has missed a large chunk of this season due to injuries but whenever he’s been on the pitch, Manchester City have looked like a completely different beast.

City had paid £100 million to sign Jack Grealish in 2021 but the winger has not been able to impress as per his price tag. Obviously, in a team like Man City, he’s scored and assisted several goals but there are only a handful of games where he shoulders most of the responsibility all by himself. Doku is a much more exciting prospect and if a club is ready to pay a handsome fee then Pep Guardiola will sell Grealish in the blink of an eye.

Silva, to a large extent, is also dispensable but without a world-class replacement, Manchester City won’t even think of offloading Kevin De Bruyne. City are being linked with Bayern’s Jamal Musiala but the Bavarians have made it clear that the youngster is not up for sale and if the defending EPL champions cannot sign someone like him then KDB is going nowhere.
