Rangers midfielder Jason Holt could be on his way out of the club during the summer transfer window – as per reports.
Up until now, there has been no official confirmation but the 26-year-old was left out of the Rangers squad which travelled to Portugal for the pre-season training camp.
And this is a clear indication that the player will not be featuring next season under Steven Gerrard.
Jason Holt was a key player for Rangers under Warburton but last season he was sent out on loan to Fleetwood Town.
The midfielder did manage to make 33 league appearance for the League One side during the 2018-19 season and many people had hoped that Gerrard might just use him next campaign.
But his omission from the pre-season training camp seems to have laid rest to any doubts and reports are claiming that he is heading to QPR pretty soon.
QPR are currently being managed by Mark Warburton who is very much familiar with Jason Holt and it looks like the QPR boss has made him one of the club’s top transfer priorities.
Jason Holt still has one year left on his deal which means Rangers should be able to get a pretty decent transfer fee from his sale and this money will certainly be put to use in terms of bringing in new players this summer.
Steven Gerrard has a packed midfield for the upcoming season which makes the selling off of Jason Holt absolute sense.
But some experts are claiming that it is the midfielder who is actually getting the better end of the bargain.
QPR currently play in the Championship and if Jason Holt does end up joining them then surely it will be a step up for the 26-year-old.
