Rangers FC scored six goals past Hibernian on Sunday with Jermain Defore scoring a hattrick and Alfredo Morelos a brace.

Hibs played most of the second half with 10 men after defender Sean Mackie was sent off for deliberate use of the arm to block a pass. But before that, the Gers were already 2-0 up thanks to Jermain Defoe

And it was in the 74th minute that loanee finishing his hattrick for the game which in turn opened the flood gates for Rangers.

Jermain Defoe arrived at the club on a loan spell during the January transfer window and this season, the 36-year-old has already managed to score five goals across all competitions for the Teddy Bears.

And speaking after the 6-1 win, Gers boss Steven Gerrard has hinted that Jermain Defoe might be staying at the club even after his loan spell expires.

“I get the age. But, for me, the important thing is how you feel,” Gerrard said.

If you’ve never touched a drop of alcohol in your life and are as hungry as Jermain Defoe, age never comes into my thinking.

“I don’t think, ‘He’s 36 so can’t start or play two games on the road’ I know this player, his hunger, his professionalism. He can score goals for Rangers for this season and, if I can predict, probably after this season as well.

“Hibs are a good team, with outstanding individual players.

In the 10 to 15 minute period when they were on top today, they played some good stuff. Scott Allan’s pass for their goal was magnificent, it was one I would have been proud of myself.”

Last season, Jermain Defoe managed to score 8 goals and make 8 assists in just 28 games which are great numbers for someone who was playing in Scotland for the first time.

And this season he has already managed to reach that tally in just a couple of games so no wonder Gerrard is already hatching plans to sign him permanently.

Jermain Defoe is out of contract at his parent club AFC Bournemouth next summer want it looks like the Rangers manager has already held talks with the player in regards of joining the club as a free agent.
