Manchester City are planning to get rid of Kalvin Phillips during the January transfer window but it’s very hard to see the midfielder play for another Premier League club.

Phillip’s career has gone down the drain since joining City and this season, he’s made only four appearances in the Premier League and all of them have been off the bench. Pep Guardiola has finally decided to sell him off during the January transfer window.

His contract with City expires in 2028 but with teams like Liverpool, Newcastle United and Juventus interested in the England international, it’s almost certain that he is going to leave the Etihad Stadium at the start of the new year.

Will Kalvin Phillips remain in the Premier League?

Phillips is itching to revive his career and because he wants to remain in England, Newcastle and Liverpool are the favourites to land him.

While Newcastle are exploring a loan option for the midfielder they do not wish to include an obligation to buy. On the other side, TuttoJuve are claiming that Juventus also want a loan deal and they are ready to buy him permanently in the summer which is why Manchester City are favouring the Old Lady over the Magpies.

Liverpool are also interested in Kalvin Phillips but Pep Guardiola is not too keen to let the midfielder join a direct rival which is why the Reds will find it hard to agree on a transfer.

West Ham United have also joined the list of admirers but from what’s being put out on the media, it looks like Guardiola does not want Phillips to remain in the Premier League. Also, with Juventus interested in a permanent arrangement, there’s no need for MCFC to lower their demands.

Newcastle want Kalvin Phillips as Sandro Tonali’s replacement but because the summer signing will come back after his ban, Eddie Howe does not wish to commit on a permanent deal. However, Juventus have lost Paul Pogba permanently which is why they are ready to put in an obligation to buy clause in that loan deal.

Mac Allister in the defensive midfielder’s role hasn’t worked out for Liverpool so they also need a player like Phillips but we think they are at the bottom of the pack because they are directly competing with Manchester City in the title race.
