Liverpool’s predicted line-up against Crystal Palace: Will Klopp go with an unchanged side for the third straight time?

Liverpool take on Crystal Palace this coming weekend in the Reds’ first home game of the new season. And we have a feeling that Jurgen Klopp is going to name the same side which went out on the pitch against Hoffenheim in the Champions League Qualifiers.

We take a look at Liverpool’s predicted line-up against Crystal Palace:

Goalkeeper:

Simon Mignolet

No prizes for guessing.

Defence:

Just like the Hoffenheim game, Jurgen Klopp will start the game against Crystal Palace with four players in the defensive line. Nathan Clyne is recovering from a hamstring injury and so it highly unlikely that we will see him on the pitch. So we will see young Alexander Arnold take Clyne’s place in the back line. Arnold also managed to score a goal against Hoffenheim during midweek and he will be raring to have a go this weekend. The 18-year-old right-back will be supported by Alberto Moreno on the opposite flank of the pitch, while the duo of Joel Matip and Dejan Lovern will be handed the central defensive duties.

Right-Back: Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Left-Back: Alberto Moreno.

Central Defenders: Dejan Lovren & Joel Matip.

Midfield:

Liverpool are likely to step out at Anfield with three central midfielders in the form of Wijnaldum, Emre Can and Jordan Henderson. While Wijnaldum will be the player who will be sitting deep in midfield, both Can and Henderson will be given a free license to roam around the pitch. And if Can’s performance last week was anything to go by then he will be the one who will play a bit further than compared to Henderson.

Attack:

Jurgen Klopp also has a bit of an injury concern when it comes to the attacking department with the unavailability of Daniel Sturridge. And after the Phillipe Coutinho fiasco, we think that Jurgen Klopp will not be including him in the lineup. So after negating all these options, Liverpool’s attacking trio pretty much chooses itself.

Liverpool will have Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane as their attacking players and all three of them will be given the license to interchange and swap positions at regular intervals just to upset the Crystal Palace defence.

Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah.
