Liverpool Preparing A £90 million Bid For Ligue 1 Forward As The Player Is Not Too Inclined To Join Arsenal Or Chelsea

Liverpool are reportedly readying a £90 million for Monaco forward Thomas Lemar during the January transfer window.

Thomas Lemar was touted to join Arsenal all throughout the summer but that move eventually fell through during the final day of the transfer window and many people feel that Lemar backed out of the deal because of the Gunners’ inability to provide Champions League football. And come January, Liverpool will be trying to use this same point to their advantage.

Thomas Lemar is valued at £90 million in the transfer market and according to the Independent, Liverpool will take a serious shot at bringing the player to Anfield. And their reason seems to be very similar to that of Arsenal. Wenger primarily wanted to sign the 22-year-old as a long-term replacement to Alexis Sanchez and Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp might be having the same idea. The Merseyside outfit might very well lose Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona at the end of the summer and Klopp sees Thomas Lemar as a suitable replacement.

The Reds seem to have the edge over Arsenal as of now but one place where they could stumble is if Chelsea go after Lemar with any sort of seriousness. Chelsea are also said to hold a substantial interest in the forward even though something concrete has yet to come out of this story. But now we know that Chelsea have lost out on Leon Bailey as Bayer Leverkusen has opted not to part ways with the Jamaican. So it is quite possible that Antonio Conte shifts his focus to Thomas Lemar.

Watch out, Jurgen Klopp.
