Manchester United travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool in the Premier League next Sunday and this Liverpool vs Man United game which has been the face of English football for many a season.

The tides though have changed heavily during the past few years with Man United being a shadow of their past self.

Liverpool, on the other hand, have grown in leaps and bounds under their new boss Jurgen Klopp and this year the Reds have perhaps their best shot at winning the Premier League title.

A couple of weeks ago and we could have safely said the Liverpool vs Man United match would have Jurgen Klopp’s way. But Manchester United go into this match at the back of a 4-1 win over Fulham.

Liverpool still remain the slight favourites for this game but now that United have a bit of wind in their sails, the outcome of the game could be very different.

But the biggest fear for the Man United fans is their team once again going into a defensive shell once they take the pitch at Anfield.

But Ashley Young has assured the fans that Manchester United will go on the attack during the Liverpool vs Man United game.

“Everyone knows what the Liverpool games are like,” Young said.

“We should play exactly the way we’ve shown [against Fulham in a 4-1 home win on Saturday], go there and play the way the manager wants to play.

“It is never an easy game when you go to Anfield. We want to be on the front foot. That first half [against Fulham] we were. I was a little bit disappointed when we came off after the game because I thought we could have got more goals.

“It’s one of those things. We’ve got to take the positives out of the game, and there were so many more positives than negatives.

“When you join a club like Manchester United, as soon as you walk through the door, if you don’t know the history, give it a week you will know the history,

“You get that feel of the club, you know the size of the club. For me it’s the biggest club in the world — always has been, always will be. It’s all about winning trophies, silverware.

“I’ve been part of that and we’ve had successful years in the last couple of years. I still want trophies, still want to win things, and that’s what everyone in the squad wants.

“We’re out there to win games and trophies for this fantastic club. If we can put on performances like that, then I don’t think it is far away.

“We’ve got a lot of games coming up in the Christmas period — it’s the time where you pick up points.”
