Arsenal’s pathetic stake is quite visible in their latest transfer offer: Advantage Spurs?

Brazilian winger Malcom joined FC Barcelona from Bordeaux last summer for a transfer fee of around £36.90 million.

But the 22-year-old has failed to win the faith of Ernesto Valverde and last season, he only managed to feature in 15 La Liga games scoring just a single goal.

And reports suggest that the Catalans are looking to sell him off – more so if they manage to bring back Neymar from PSG.

A report in Sports Mole has claimed: “Barcelona winger Malcom has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.

“After a big-money move from Bordeaux last summer, Malcom was restricted to just nine starts and 13 substitute appearances in all competitions during the most recent campaign.

“The 22-year-old may be in line for more regular outings next season, but the Brazilian could find himself surplus to requirements if Barcelona secure a reunion with Neymar.

“The Catalan giants are limited to three players who hold a non-EU passport, leaving the possibility of Malcom being sacrificed to accommodate his compatriot.

“According to Diario AS, both Spurs and Arsenal are monitoring the situation at a time when they are both considering additions in the final third.”

And it looks like Arsenal have finally made their first move in terms of bringing Malcom to the Emirates.

The Gunners have reportedly submitted an offer to sign the winger on loan for the upcoming season with an option to buy permanently next summer.

And this offer has straightway given Spurs the upper hand in the deal.

The Lilywhites are said to be interested in signing Malcom on a permanent deal this summer itself so naturally, Barcelona have no reason to wait for one full season before they can cash in on the Brazilian.

Also, Spurs did not spend a single penny last season so they are willing to splash some cash this summer whereas Arsenal only have around £45 million to spend and there is no way that Unai Emery can sanction a permanent deal for Malcom this transfer season.
