Man City have been on a roll in their previous two Premier League matches, scoring eight goals and keeping clean sheets throughout the 180 minutes on the pitch.

Everyone thought Pep Guardiola’s men will take it easy after the restart since Liverpool are bound to win the league title but clearly that’s not been the case which is a really worrying sign for Chelsea.

The Blues host Man City in the league on Thursday and Frank Lampard will be really wary about the kind of form that the away side are in right now.

Man City have kept a clean sheet in 5 of their last 7 matches in the league but they lost their last Premier League trip to Stamford Bridge 2-0 which will obviously be playing at the back of the Guardiola’s mind when he names his starting XI on Thursday.

Man City team news vs Chelsea:

Aymeric Laporte was rested on Monday vs Burnley but the centre-back will reprise his role which could see Nicolas Otamendi move back to the bench.

Full-backs Kyle Walker and Benjamin Mendy both remained unused subs in City’s last outing but the pair will return to their respective roles at the Bridge.

David Silva has played in both of Man City’s matches since the restart meaning the Spaniard will be given a much-deserved rest as Kevin De Bruyne comes into the starting line-up alongside Rodri and Gundogan.

Phil Foden scored twice vs Burnley at the start of the week and the youngster is undoubtedly going to get a start vs Chelsea. But some experts think Guardiola might not risk making such a bold move.

Raheem Sterling remained on the bench in City’s last game but the England international will obviously come into the side.

This means if Guardiola chooses to go with Sterling and Foden on the wings, Riyad Mahrez could be left out, this despite him scoring twice on Monday.

Sergio Aguero picked up a knee injury and might be ruled out for the rest of the season meaning Gabriel Jesus will start upfront on Thursday at Stamford Bridge.

Man City’s predicted XI vs Chelsea:

Possible starting line-up: Ederson; Kyle Walker, Mendy, Fernandinho, Aymeric Laporte; Gundogan, Rodri, De Bruyne; Foden/Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus, Raheem Sterling.
