Man City beat Port Vale in the 3rd round of the FA Cup during the weekend and next up they have a Manchester Derby in the Football League Cup.

Manchester City take on Man United in the first leg of the semi-finals at Old Trafford on Tuesday and the Etihad outfit go into this match as the favourites.

The City boss made a host of changes to his first XI during the weekend but most of his regular players are expected to return back to action in midweek since the Citizens would want the two-legged tie to be done and dusted on Tuesday itself.

Man City news vs Man United:

Ederson has missed the last two games with an illness and we are still not sure if the Man City keeper will be fit in time or not.

Against Port Vale, Guardiola opted for a three-man defensive line meaning Stones was partnered by Zinchenko and Bellis but against United, the manager should revert back to a 4-3-3 formation.

Nicholas Otamendi is yet to fully recover meaning Stones should once again be partnered by Fernandinho in central defence while Benjamin Mendy and Kyle Walker return to the full-back positions.

David Silva returned back from injury to play in the FA Cup and we believe the Spaniard will keep his place in the starting line-up on Tuesday as De Bruyne comes into midfield.

Gundogan started vs Everton in Man City’s previous league match but the German is expected to make way for Rodri as Guardiola looks to deploy a three-man midfield.

Phil Foden was another player who started against the Toffees but the youngster will most certainly move to the bench as Raheem Sterling starts on the left flank.

Bernardo Silva started against Port Vale during the weekend which is why we feel that it will be Riyad Mahrez who will get the nod at Old Trafford.

Aguero started upfront against Vale and also managed to find the net during the match and since the Argentinian played the full 90 minutes some experts feel that it will be Gabriel Jesus who could lead the line against Man United in the EFL Cup semi-final.
