Man City suffered a 2-1 loss at the hands of Manchester United in the Premier League last weekend and next up they take on Arsenal at the Emirates.

The loss in the Manchester Derby means the Citizens are now 14 points behind Liverpool who are sitting on top of the table and most pundits feel, the title race is over.

Pep Guardiola will know for sure that cutting down such a huge gap will be a really big ask and the last thing they can afford is to fall further behind in the race especially with Liverpool playing so well.

The Man City manager rested a number of his star players in midweek against Dinamo Zagreb but almost all of them are expected to return back to the starting line-up against Arsenal on Sunday.

Man City team news vs Arsenal:

Aymeric Laporte remains an injury doubt and in midweek it was Garcia and Otamendi who played in central defence but at the Emirates, Guardiola is expected to bring back Fernandinho into defence.

John Stones picked up a thigh injury last weekend and as per the latest updates, the defender stands ruled out of the Arsenal game meaning Otamendi will play alongside the Brazilian.

Zinchenko has returned to full fitness and came on as a sub during the Champions League clash but the left-back is expected to start vs the Gunners.

David Silva missed the Zagreb game with a slight injury but the Spaniard is expected to return to the first XI during the weekend – replacing Phil Foden.

Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling were both on the bench vs Dinamo Zagreb but the pair are sure to return back to action when Man City head to London on Sunday.

As per the latest reports, Sergio Aguero is recovering rapidly from his injury but the Argentine might not be fit in time to take on Arsenal meaning once again Gabriel Jesus will lead the line as Bernardo Silva plays on the right flank.

Riyad Mahrez started in midweek but with Raheem Sterling returning back to the first XI the winger will move back to the bench and will only be called upon in the second half – if needed.
