Man United scored three goals in quick succession on Sunday but those goals only help them secure one point at Bramall Lane vs Sheffield United.
Marcus Rashford and co looked blunt during the first half of the match but in the second half, the players shifted gears and took control of the game much to the delight on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Speaking after the match, Gary Neville slammed the Man United forwards for not showing desire and commitment which was one of the biggest reason why Sheffield United were able to dominate for most of the 90 minutes.
But now Rashford has come out to explain that despite two points being dropped, the Man United side are actually moving forward with each game they play.
“They were very compact but you need to have movement,” the forward told Sky Sports.
“In the first half it wasn’t good enough from us, but we managed to recognise it and get back into the game and good position.
“It happened at Everton – 2-0 down and we lost 4-0, but it shows we’re improving and learning.
“The manager knows when we play on the front foot we’re a good team. The three goals is the response we managed to give. We have to keep pushing through – if we kept going then perhaps we would have got the win.
“Obviously a tough game for both teams. When you go 3-2 up you feel hard done by. But we were in a difficult situation and dug out of it.”
Rashford scored one goal and set up another during United’s 3-3 draw on Sunday and to be very honest, the team’s front three can tear apart any defence if they can work in tandem.
But now it’s just about playing together constantly in order to build the rhythm and sync their wavelengths.
Next up Man United travel to Kazakhstan to take on Astana in the Europa League but since the Red Devils have already secured qualification, Solskjaer is expected to rest most of his first-team players meaning the likes of Martial, Rashford and James will sit out this encounter.
