Man United have decided to let Alexis Sanchez leave and they reportedly want to bring in Fernando Llorente as a back-up to the Chilean.

Fernando Llorente joined Spurs from Swansea City in 2017 and during the past two seasons, the Spaniard has mostly played second fiddle to the likes of Harry Kane and Lucas Moura.

But at the end of the previous season, Spurs chose not to hand the forward a new deal with means the 34-year-old is still a free agent.

And now with Alexis Sanchez heading to Inter Milan, it looks like Ole wants to bring Fernando Llorente on board.

As per reports, Sanchez will be heading to Inter on a loan deal with an option to buy at the end of the season and to fill up that void, Man United have made contact with the former Spurs man and are willing to offer him a two-year deal at the club.

Llorente is in ways a like-to-like replacement for the Colombian but with him on board, Ole will have both experience and depth in his current squad which is why the Old Trafford outfit are moving for him.

Last season, the Spaniard featured in 20 Premier League games for Spurs but managed to score just a single goal which is something that the Man United fans would not want to hear.

But at time of desperation, Fernando Llorente can certainly act as the kitchen sink for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Another major reason why the forward would be a good option to sign is because he earned around £75,000 per week at Spurs last season which is the same price that he would be demanding in case he joins Man United.

And this will be a great business in exchange for Alexis Sanchez who was pocketing £390,000-a-week at Old Trafford.

Also, as per reports, the 34-year-old rejected an approach from Spurs to re-sign for the club on a free transfer which has led many people to believe that he could have his heart set on a move to Man United.
