Manchester United travel to Anfield this weekend in order to take on Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool side. The Red Devils are in tremendous form as they have won each of their past six matches in all competitions while scoring 4 goals in four of those matches. While Manchester United do have a couple of absentees but that should not prove much of a headache for the Portuguese manager while making his team selection.

We take a look at Manchester United’s predicted lineup during the Liverpool vs Man Utd game this weekend:

Goalkeeper:

David De Gea will resume goalkeeping duties for United after being freshly selected a Ballon d’Or nominee for 2017.

Defence:

Manchester United have a pretty much well settled defensive line with Antonio Valencia, Eric Bailly and Phil Jones almost regular starters for Mourinho. The only position that the manager is still fiddling around is the left-back position where he is making changes almost every week in order to find his best candidate. This weekend we believe that the manager will give a chance to Daley Blind in that position. Phil Jones had a little injury scare when he pulled out of the England squad during the international break but the player should be available to play against Liverpool in central defence along with Eric Bailly.

Blind – Jones – Bailly – Valencia

Midfield:

Both Paul Pogba and Marouane Fellaini are two big absentees in the middle of the pitch. While Pogba has been out for a couple of weeks, the Belgian picked up the injury during the international break. This means that Ander Herrera will come into the setup along with Nemanja Matic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. While Matic will play the defensive screen, the Armenian will play a much more advanced role.

Matic – Herrera – Mkhitaryan

Attack:

Romelu Lukaku also had a bit of an injury concern during the international break but the summer signing for Manchester United will be fit to play against Liverpool. The 24-year-old striker has already reached double figures for the Red Devils in the goal department and he will be assisted by Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata from the wide areas. Both Mata and Rashford have been regular starters under Jose Mourinho this season and we can certainly expect Anthony Martial to come into the equation somewhere in the second half of the match.

Rashford – Lukaku – Mata
