Manchester City have been handed a huge boost in the transfer of Alexis Sanchez as Bayern Munich look to have cooled their interest in the Chilean.

According to French website L’EQUIPE, Bayern Munich have reportedly pulled out of the race to sign Sanchez and are looking for other options.

Alexis Sanchez has demanded £420,000-per-week in the form of wages and Bayern are just not ready to pay such a staggering amount. And the Bavarians are now said to be pursuing Atletico Madrid’s, Yannick Carrasco with the German Champions willing to pay as much as €50 million for the winger.

This though comes as a huge boost for Pep Guardiola who is looking to bring Alexis Sanchez to Manchester. City have been pursuing Sanchez for quite some time now but Bayern were always the favourites to sign the Chilean. But now with Bayern pulling out of the race, City are virtually running a one man race towards the finish line.

While Sanchez’s wage demands are very steep but it will not pose any sort of problems for Manchester City as Guardiola looks to rebuild his side. Sanchez is keen to rejoin Guardiola after having played under the City coach during their Barcelona days. But Arsenal could certainly come up with some roadblocks in this deal.

Firstly it will be really hard to convince Wenger to sell Sanchez to Man City. The last thing that Wenger would do is to sell such a top player to a direct rival. And secondly, if reports are to be believed Wenger is trying desperately to keep Sanchez at the Emirates. In order to do, Wenger has reportedly put up as many as nine players for sale during the summer. All in the hope that he could gather up the funds required to meet the wage demands of the Chilean.
