Man United have submitted their 25-man squad list to the Premier League for the 2019-20 season but the name of Mason-Greenwood was not on that list.

Many fans were a bit perplexed to see that the academy graduate was not named in the 25-man squad especially after the manager had claimed that the youngster will be playing a key role during the current season.

Well, the reason why the name of Mason Greenwood along with a few others likes Diogo Dalot and Angel Gomes have not been included in the squad is because they were born after 1 January 1998.

Players who are born after this date are eligible over and above the limit of 25 players per squad meaning they can play in the Premier League anytime during the course of this season but their names need not be in the 25-man squad.

And talking about Mason Greenwood, we believe the youngster will have a make or break season with the first-team this season now that Romelu Lukaku has left for Inter Milan.

The manager has made it clear that the youngster will be a key part of his attacking line-up this season and there have also been reports that the forward is going to be offered a new contract at the club under the terms of which he will be getting wages of £25,000 a week.

Mason Greenwood played in 13 U18 Premier League games last season and he managed to score a staggering 15 goals along with 5 assists. So his sudden promotion to the first XI is not a shot in the dark from the manager.

And now the only thing left for him to do is to carry that good academy form into the first XI especially in the cup competitions and the Europa League games where is more likely to feature this season.
