According to a report in Football Insider, MCFC are willing to go back for Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze.

Manchester City had tried and failed to sign Eze during the summer transfer window following which they had to go out and sign Wolves’ Mathues Nunes.

However, it looks like Pep Guardiola and City’s sporting director Txiki Begiristain is a big admirer of Eberechi Eze which is why the club will try one more time to land the England international.

Eberechi Eze joined Palace from QPR in 2020 and as per the rumours, the Eagles are valuing him at around £70 million. However, his current contract expires in 2025 and he is yet to sign an extension which is a big positive for MCFC.

At the end of the season, Eze is going to enter the final year of his deal and if he does not put pen to paper, there’s no way Palace will be able to demand £70 million for the 25-year-old.

Pep Guardiola had brought in Matheus Nunes with a lot of hope but the ex-Wolves man has failed to live up to the hype. Nunes is warming the benches this season alongside Kalvin Phillips so MCFC have to go out and bring in another midfielder.

Gungodan has left for Barcelona while Silva was also linked with an exit in the summer but in the end, he stayed put. Silva remains one of the most important players in the City squad but it’s almost certain that the Portugal international will once again push for an exit next summer.

Eberechi Eze is a fine talent and if MCFC can bring him in for around £50-55 million, it will be considered a bargain deal. Crystal Palace know how valued Eze which is why they are about to open contract talks with the 25-year-old and the Eagles are hoping they can agree on an extension before the 23/24 season comes to an end.
