Moussa Dembele playing for Celtic

Lyon forward Moussa Dembele has caught the attention of a number of big European clubs this season but right now Chelsea and Manchester United are said to be the frontrunners to signing him.

Both United and Chelsea have been heavily linked with the former Celtic star over the past couple of months and most reports claim that it’s the Blues who are desperate to sign the 23-year-old.

Lyon paid around €22 million for the services of Moussa Dembele back in 2018 and since then the forward has been one of the top players in the whole of Ligue 1.

This season, Dembele has already netted 16 goals in just 27 league games and now as per the latest updates, Lyon seem to have made up their mind regarding the future of the player.

Up until now, the French club were reluctant to offload the player but now it seems like the management have finally decided to cash in on him during the upcoming summer transfer window.

And this will be a massive boost for both Manchester United and Chelsea who are looking to bring in a new centre-forward at the end of the season.

Chelsea are about to lose Olivier Giroud meaning Tammy Abraham will then be their only in-form striker and in such a scenario, Moussa Dembele becomes absolutely key to their plans.

Man United are also trying to sign Harry Kane but Solskjaer knows fully well that it will not be easy to get their hands on the England captain which is why Dembele is the backup plan for the OT outfit.

Some reports claim Lyon will not take anything less than €50 million for the Frenchman and if that’s truly the case both United, as well as Chelsea, will contest fiercely for the forward’s signature in the summer.
