Newcastle United have fulfilled their dream of playing in the Champions League but their first league game will be against the mighty AC Milan.

The Magpies head to Italy to take on Stefano Pioli’s Milan on Tuesday night and no matter what the result, this one is going to be a proper celebration for all the travelling fans.

This is the first time the teams are playing against each other but NUFC will go into this gameweek one at the back of some really average form as they have won just two out of their first five Premier League games and are currently 11th on the table. Milan might be European elites but they are in shambles right now as they were ripped apart by Inter in the Milan Derby, losing 5-1.

Newcastle United will be absolutely buzzing and if they can someone pick up a win against Milan then it will be a dream start for them. Last season, they were one of the best teams in England but this campaign, they have been sort of wobbly so it’s hard to predict where Tuesday’s match will go.

Newcastle United’s team news and injuries:

Emil Krafth is ruled out with a knee injury and even Jo Willock is going to miss out because he has suffered a setback and will be out for one more month.

The manager had said earlier this month: ‘Unfortunately, Joe has had a bit of a setback. It’s an Achilles injury not related to his hamstring problem. So, I think he will be missing for around (another) six weeks. We are missing him in terms of his energy.’

Joelinton sustained a knee injury while on international duty and he is not likely to be fit for the trip to Milan.

Sandro Tonali is in line to make a start against his former employers which means Elliot Anderson is going to move to the bench while Longstaff and Guimaraes hold onto their place from the Brentford game.

The defensive line is not going to see any changes but the front three could see a slight reshuffle. Harvey Barnes and Almiron will fit for a place on one of the wings while Alexander Isak is going to come back into the side, replacing Callum Wilson.

Anthony Gordon can play on either wing and his position will depend on whether Eddie Howe chooses Barnes or Almiron as his other winger.

Newcastle United predicted line up vs Milan:

Predicted Starting line up(4-3-3): Nick Pope; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Sean Longstaff, Tonali, Guimaraes; Isak, Gordon, Harvey Barnes.
