Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante picked up a hamstring injury during Chelsea’s 3-0 win over Watford in early May which initially meant that the player could miss out on the Europa League final.

N’Golo Kante missed out on the final two Premier League games of the season for the Blues but given that there was a long break before the Europa League final, it seemed like the Frenchman would be fit and available.

And last week, Maurizio Sarri came out to claim that Kante could indeed be named in the starting XI vs Arsenal.

‘Of course, we are trying to recover Kante,’ Sarri stated.

‘He had a part of training yesterday with the group, so we are optimistic he will be able to play the final.’

This was a huge relief for all the Chelsea fans given that N’Golo Kante has been rock solid this season despite Sarri handing him a new role in midfield.

Now though, some really disappointing news is coming out of London.

Latest reports are claiming that N’Golo Kante has picked up a fresh injury at the start of the week which could rule him out of the Europa League final this week.

The reports stated: “Kante is being assessed by Chelsea’s medical staff but on Tuesday morning the chances of him being available against the Gunners were fading.”

If the World Cup winner does indeed miss the final then it will surely be a huge blow for Maurizio Sarri and his plans.

N’Golo Kante has been the perfect partner to Jorginho having provided the defensive screen but in his absence, the Chelsea boss will have to choose from either Ross Barkley or Mateo Kovacic.
