Athletic Club winger Nico Williams has been a talking point in recent months and right now, as many as three Premier League clubs want to sign him, claims the Mirror.

Williams is a product of the Bilbao academy and the winger has played more than 100 games for the senior side. This season, he’s been particularly great, scoring and assisting nine goals in 19 league starts for the club.

He’s also played 11 games for the Spanish national team and Fabrizio Romano is claiming that Arsenal have scouted the left-winger multiple times.

“Arsenal have also sent their scouts to follow Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao multiple times, and it’s the same for Chelsea as they included him in the list last summer,” Romano has told Caught Offside exclusively.

“The race is completely open, and nothing is advanced with either club so far. He’d be great in the Premier League in my opinion – a physical and technical player; very good one.”

Chelsea and Liverpool are the other two sides who have been keeping tabs on the winger but Real Madrid had been previously linked with him.

Madrid wanted to sign Nico Williams last summer but since he’s signed a new deal in December, the Los Blancos have cooled off their interest in the 21-year-old.

Madrid’s full focus is on bringing Kylian Mbappe to the club and there’s no way they will deviate their focus to a player like Nico Williams.

Williams is set to be interested in a switch but Athletic Club won’t let him go for cheap. His new contract expires in 2027 and the Spanish side won’t let him leave for anything less than €70-75 million.

Last year, Bilbao rejected a €50 million offer for the winger and even Liverpool were ready to offer the same price. However, now that he’s signed a fresh deal, Nico Williams is set to become a really expensive player during the upcoming summer transfer window.
