Shrewsbury Town held Wolves to a 2-2 draw in the fourth round of the FA Cup this weekend.

And it was on-loan midfielder Greg Docherty who caught everyone’s attention.

Docherty is on loan at Shrewsbury from Rangers FC and the central midfielder opened the scoring against Wolves in the 47th minute.

But what many people have failed to notice is that Greg Docherty has already scored eight goals and provided eight assists this season.

And one person who seems to be really impressed with Greg Docherty is Man United legend, Paul Ince.

Ince was covering the FA Cup for BBC and the former United frontman had this to say about the 22-year-old.

“I thought he was outstanding today not just defensively but offensively, breaking forward, hitting shots, he has a fantastic strike on him,

“This is his goal. I loved to see players making this bursting runs, cuts inside, takes slight deflection and Ruddy has absolutely no chance.

“He was fantastic all game and he’s on loan from Rangers and if Stevie G is watching this performance then he will be dragging him back.”

This praise will certainly be great news for Greg Docherty who has been really developing at Shrewsbury this season.

He is scheduled to head back to Rangers at the end of the season and if the youngster can keep up the good form for the second half of the season he will surely be calling Ibrox his home for a long time to come.
