Real Madrid have sacked their manager Julen Lopetegui after just 10 games into the new season.

Real Madrid are currently ninth on the league table with 14 points and now the next manager will have an uphill task of reviving the fate of the Los Blancos.

Santiago Solari has been named the interim manager at the club until former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte takes charge of the club sometime this week.

Despite putting Real Madrid in a state of discomfort, words of sympathy have been pouring in for Julen Lopetegui.

Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos has come out and said kind words about his former manager and now Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has also opened up about the sacking of Julen Lopetegui.

Pep Guardiola said: “I’m sorry for Julen because he’s a friend of mine. He’s an exceptional person,

“I want to call him in the next few days,

“It is what it is. It’s football, nobody escapes that. When you have bad results you will not continue in big, big places like Barcelona or Madrid … I wish him all the best.”

Julen Lopetegui was the manager for Real Madrid for just 139 days during which time he managed 14 games.

And in this fourteen games, the Spaniard manager’s team managed to win just six games putting his win percentage at just 42.86.
