Barcelona have brought in Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid this past week and now reports are claiming that the Catalans are now ready to offload Philippe Coutinho.

The La Liga side spent €145 million in order to bring in Philippe Coutinho during the January transfer window of 2018. But the winger has done very little to impress Ernesto Valverde.

Last season, Philippe Coutinho failed to make his mark on the Spanish league as he managed to net just 5 goals and make 2 assists in 34 league games for the Catalans.

Recent reports have suggested that Barcelona have plans to hand the Coutinho’s No 7 shirt to Antoine Griezmann as the club are now looking for a buyer for the Brazilian.

And amongst this, reports have been claiming that Liverpool are ready to make a move for Philippe Coutinho and bring him back to Anfield but only if they are provided with a hefty discount in the transfer.

TransferMarkt currently value the forward at around €90 million but clearly, Liverpool are not ready to spend that much too given that Coutinho had such a poor season.

While the rumours suggest that Barca are willing to sell off the 27-year-old but the player’s agent has made it clear that he is not up for sale during the current transfer window.

Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian told The Telegraph: “I was told they have no intention of selling him, that Barcelona have not spoken to anyone and that stories to the contrary are simply not true.

“I will not let people talk about Philippe and put him down because for one-and-a-half years we have said nothing.

“I won’t let them do that and all of us in Philippe’s camp will not let that happen because Barcelona have told us he is staying.

“Coutinho’s camp are not actively looking to move him but we believe people inside Barcelona may be acting without authority to try and sell the player.

“Either Barcelona have to contain the people within their organisation who are giving out information to the contrary or they have to tell us the truth if they have changed their minds.”

The entry of Liverpool will surely be a big blow for Man United who have been linked with a move for Philippe Coutinho for a number of months now.

With Jurgen Klopp reportedly interested in bringing back the Brazilian there is very little change that Philippe Coutinho would snub that opportunity to play in the Europa League for Man United.
