Real Madrid are sitting at the top of the La Liga table with 12 points from their first four matches and next up, they welcome Real Sociedad to the Bernabeu.

Madrid faced a lot of problems trying to bring Kylian Mbappe in the summer but those battle scars are not visible at all this season. Ancelotti has also lost Karim Benzema to the Saudi league but so far, people like Rodrygo are doing a great fill-in job.

The Los Blancos have more than enough firepower to get over the line on Sunday but their manager’s major focus will be on their UCL game against Union Berlin next week and then a league clash against Atletico Madrid. These two games are very important for the club so it won’t be a surprise if Ancelotti makes a series of quick changes as soon as his starting players wrap up three points against Sociedad.

Real Madrid’s team news and injuries:

Thibaut Courtois and Eder Militao are both out with cruciate ligament injuries and it’s safe to say that both of them are about to miss most of the 2023/24 season.

Courtois’ absence means Kepa will remain the No 1 while Rudiger and Alaba will pair up in central defence with Garcia and Carvajal operating out wide.

Real Madrid have successfully found the heirs to both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric while Jude Bellingham has added another dimension by playing in the slightly advanced midfield role.

Luka Modric played alongside Tchouameni and Camavinga in the 2-1 win against Getafe but the Croatian international played two matches for his national team during the international break so Carlo is definitely going to rest him on Sunday.

Vini Jr is slated to return from his thigh injury sometime this month but the Real Sociedad game will come too early for him. Summer signing Arda Guler underwent knee surgery in mid-August and according to his manager, he was supposed to be out for two months. If this timeline is correct then the 18-year-old is slated to make a comeback in October.

Joselu has scored one and assisted one goal in four appearances for Real Madrid and the 33-year-old will get another start up front, alongside Rodrygo.

Real Madrid predicted line up vs Real Sociedad:

Predicted Starting XI(4-3-1-2): Kepa; Garcia, Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger, Alaba; Tchouameni, Camavinga, Valverde; Bellingham; Joselu, Rodrygo.
