But as soon as this news broke, the Sottish fans have started showing their outrage over the deal.
And two clubs seem to have come in the line of fire – Rangers FC and Celtic FC.
Most of the fans are of the view that the Glasgow clubs are the prime reason why Sky Sports have shown interest in the Premiership meaning the other matches will get very less importance from the broadcaster.
The fans have started drawing comparisons with BT Sport who gave almost every match the equal level of importance.
Here are some reactions:
Poor again for the fans, back to being a warm up for the EPL. At least BT gave the game the prominence it deserved

48 games live and exclusive? We have 60 games live at the moment so has paying tv viewer lost 12 live games a season?

@skysports Why? Your coverage has been piss poor, your pundits continual unprofessional conduct towards Scottish Football eg (team names and the Paul Merson debacle) @btsportfootball Who have genuinely shown passion and commitment. Why did you bid? When you have zero interest. pic.twitter.com/idNrgeJ7cZ
