Manchester United will take on Manchester City in the Premier League this Wednesday and Solskjaer is expected to make a number of changes to his first XI.

The Red Devils have lost six of their past eight games in all competitions and their last one was a 4-0 loss to Everton at Goodison Park this last Sunday.

This loss was without a doubt one of the lowest points during Solskjaer’s regime and the manager had come out with some harsh words after the match.

Speaking during the post-match conference the manager said:

We have got to apologise to the fans,

That performance was not good enough for a Manchester United team – from me to the players.

”We know we let the fans and the club down. That performance is difficult to describe because it was so bad. They beat us on all the basics.

We were beaten on all the ingredients you need, added to your talent, today. As I said last week as well, there is no place to hide on the pitch. It was 85 minutes before we had a shot on target. It’s not good enough. We know that.

And talking to Gary Neville for Sky Sports(via MEN), Solskjaer revealed that some of the first team players might be dropped for the Manchester Derby.

“Of course there will be consequences,” the Norwegian said.

We’re not going to see the same team.

“We had a plan before the (Everton) game how we’re going to look against City anyway and some decisions would have to wait.

“We had a plan anyway and those two plans (Everton and City) weren’t the same.”

And it looks like Solskjaer is doing everything possible to bring back that positivity amongst his players.

As part of the preparations, Man United were seen training at the Cliff instead of their usual training place at Carrington.

Man United left the Cliff in 2000 when they moved to Carrington but Solskjaer has taken his team back to nostalgia in order to change the atmosphere.

The Cliff is where some of the greatest teams for Man United were forged and Ole feels that this slice of history will be able to help motivate the players before the Manchester Derby.
