Tottenham are the only club who are yet to lose a match this season and the way Chelsea are playing this season, this one should be an easy win for the home side. The Blues have dropped points in seven out of their 10 league matches and they go into this London derby at the back of two winless league outings.
Spurs have started the season in fine fashion, already beating teams like Manchester United and Liverpool and they have also managed to draw against North London rivals Arsenal. Chelsea, on paper, have the firepower to trouble Tottenham and because Pochettino is returning to his former side, he will be hoping that his players can cause a setback but honestly, we don’t see anything other than a comfortable Spurs win.
Tottenham Hotspur’s team news and injuries:
Ivan Perisic is expected to miss the rest of the season with a cruciate ligament injury while Destiny Udogie missed the the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace with an ankle ligament injury.
The left-back is still doubtful for the Chelsea game but because he’s gotten a full week’s rest, he should be available in time. Ben Davies played only the first half against Palace after which he was withdrawn due to a strain injury.
Rodrigo Bentancur has finally returned after a long injury lay-off and played a few minutes towards the end of the Palace match but he will only be on the bench on Monday.
Ange Postecoglou has settled upon his regular starting XI and unless there’s a late injury setback the Spurs manager is not going to make any changes. Everyone thought Harry Kane’s departure would be a disaster for the North London side but with Son playing up front, Spurs have unlocked a new dimension to their play.
Spurs predicted line up vs Chelsea:
Predicted Starting Line up(4-2-3-1): Vicario; Van de Ven, Romero, Porro, Udogie; Bissouma, Sarr; Richarlison, Kulusevski, Maddison; Son.
