Victor Lindelof has endured a tough time at Manchester United but towards the end of last season, the defender has seen a significant amount of game time.

The Swedish defender joined United in 2017 from Benfica but this summer there has been heavy reports linking the centre-back to La Liga giants, Barcelona.

Multiple sources have claimed that Ernesto Valverde wants to bring in Victor Lindelof as a back-up/replacement to the likes of Pique and Samuel Umtiti.

But now he has made it clear that he is happy at Manchester United and does not want to move out anytime soon.

“I’m very, very happy to be a Manchester United player,” Lindelof told a news conference in Perth on Tuesday(as reported by Goal).

“I’m really looking forward to this season. I’m very excited for a new season to start.

“That’s my answer, I’m very happy here. I always felt like a Manchester United player but last season was a better season for me, I performed better than I did in my first, pretty.

“I’m happy that people think that [I’m the best central defender at the club].

“I’m just trying to do my best every day and that’s what I work hard for every day to help the team and the club.

“Well new players, new signings, we as a team will always try to help them to settle in as quickly as possible,

“This is my third season here, I’ve been through what it is to sign for this club and get a little criticism.

“But it’s part of the game and, like I said before, everyone in the team is trying to help the new guys.”

Under Jose Mourinho, Victor Lindelof somehow found him down the pecking order but ever since Solskjaer has taken over, the defender seems to have found a new lease of life at the club.

Under Ole, he has started in almost every major game for Man United and next season, it is more or less certain that Victor Lindelof is set to become one half of United’s defensive pairing.
