Manchester United ran riot vs Chelsea at Old Trafford on Sunday and after the match, Frank Lampard and Jose Mourinho got into a bit of a disagreement.

This was the first professional game that Frank Lampard was taking charge at Chelsea and the Blues started off in fine form as they could have easily taken the lead right after kick-off.

But that was not to be and it was Man United will were awarded a penalty against the run of play and went into half-time leading the match, 1-0.

In the second half though, Man United shifted gears and blew away Chelsea as they scored three more goals.

And speaking after the game, former Man United boss Jose Mourinho chose to criticize Frank Lampard and his team selection by claiming that the new manager should use some experienced players in such high profile matches.

“A little bit of experience would fit well with the team,” Mourinho said to Sky Sports[as reported by MEN].

“Look at the performance of Mason Mount, of Tammy Abraham, Christensen even, for matches of this dimension you need a little bit more.”

Everyone expected Frank Lampard to take these comments pretty lightly and avoid any controversies but the Blues boss instead chose to come out and defend his team selection.

Frank Lampard hinted that Jose Mourinho should have considered the number of injuries that Chelsea have before making such comments.

“He didn’t like the performance of Mason Mount? Is that what he said?!” Lampard questioned.

“I can’t drag people out of the medical room to play. We were clearly the better team but we made individual errors. Not concerned about what anyone else says. I believe in this squad.”

Next up, Chelsea will take on Liverpool in the UEFA Super Cup and everyone will be waiting to see what changes, Frank Lampard will make to his starting XI.
