Manchester United drew against Club Brugge in the Europa League on Thursday with Anthony Martial getting the only goal for Solskjaer’s men.

And according to pundit Charlie Nicholas, the Frenchman could prove to be the trump card for Man United when they host Watford in the Premier League on Sunday.

He wrote for Sky Sports: “It is another unpredictable scenario for Manchester United. I thought they were ordinary again in Bruges.

“Anthony Martial got another goal. What is the formation going to be this weekend? It is a weird thing to navigate and pick apart.

“On any given day, it is usually a banker, but because of how Manchester United are now, you cannot guarantee anything.

“Watford are battling for their lives and they will scrap away and be a handful if they can get going.

“With a Watford win potentially lifting them out of this hole, I do not see a lot in this one. I’m finding it hard to make a strong case for Manchester United but with Martial back in the goals, I will opt for a narrow home win, although I wouldn’t be surprised by a draw.”

Verdict on Anthony Martial:

Anthony Martial has been under real scrutiny this season after the Man United manager’s chosen to use his as a centre-forward.

Many pundits and fans feel Martial is not really up for the task since he does not have the hunger or the movement to play upfront or even for Manchester United for that matter.

But despite all the poor comments, the forward has so far managed to notch up 14 goals in 30 games across all competitions for the Old Trafford outfit.
