Manchester United return to the Premier League this weekend as they head to Turf Moor to take on Burnley and all eyes will be on Erik ten Hag to see if he selects Garnacho and Sofyan Amrabat or not.

United suffered yet another defeat in midweek, this time losing to Bayern Munich in the Champions League which means the Red Devils have failed to secure a win in their previous three outings.

Things however should change for the better this weekend because Burnley are in really poor form having picked up just one win from their first five league matches this season.

Sofyan Amrabat returned from international duty with a lower back injury but he has resumed training this week and is in line to make his debut on Saturday.

The midfielder was training individually at the start of the week so it’s safe to say he has built up his fitness to play alongside Casemiro. If the Morroccon international is fit and available then Christian Eriksen will be the one to make way.

Amrabat has been a much-needed signing for Manchester United because the team failed to cease control of the midfield in the Brighton and Bayern matches so the manager will be hoping that a pairing of Amrabat and Casemiro should be able to restore balance.

Garnacho though is not going to be so lucky because Marcus Rashford will continue to play from the left wing with Pellistri operating on the right. Antony is missing so there is no natural right-winger available at the moment which means ETH will either have to play someone out of position or use Facundo Pellistri.

Garnacho came on against Bayern in the 81st minute but because the Argentine cannot play out on the right, he will have to be content with a place on the bench once again. The youngster has been itching for starts but there’s no way his manager is going to select him ahead of someone like Rashford.

Raphael Varane and Mason Mount also trained with the first team this week and both of them should be fit enough to feature in the matchday squad.

With Amrabat returning, Ten Hag has no reason to rush Mason Mount back into the team and the same stands for Varane. The French defender has been really injury prone since the previous few seasons and since Lindelof has done more than a decent job alongside Martinez, the Man United manager won’t risk Varane either.

Erik ten Hag seems to have a few positives going into Saturday but out of all these Sofyan Amrabat is the only one who is a guaranteed starter while the likes of Garnacho, Mount and Varane will be good enough to be on the bench.
