Man United manager not keen to let this misfit leave in January: Which clubs want him?

0
Jesse Lingard Man United

Man United academy graduate Jesse Lingard has found it really hard to get game time this season but still Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not too keen to send him out this month, as per ESPN.

The report claims: “Jesse Lingard and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are in a tug-of-war over the Manchester United midfielder’s future, sources have told ESPN.

“Lingard is desperate to find regular first-team football after making just three appearances so far this season. Solskjaer is sympathetic to the 28-year-old’s situation but is keen to keep him at Old Trafford this month as he prepares for a busy second half of the season with games in three competitions.

“United have exercised a one-year extension in Lingard’s contract that will keep him at the club until 2022 but he remains keen to play regularly after falling down the pecking order under Solskjaer.”

Will Jesse Lingard join a new club this month?

Jesse Lingard has been living on the fringes at Man United this season and so far in the 2020-21 campaign, he’s yet to play a single minute in the Premier League.

He’s played in only three games across all competitions this season which would be reason enough to let him leave this month.

But it looks like Ole has plans to use the 28-year-old during the second half of the season.

Man United will be playing in the Europa League meaning a lot of the games will be against relatively weaker opponents. And a fringe player like Jesse Lingard could be really useful during such matches.

Clubs like West Ham United, Sheffield and Spurs and Inter Milan have all been linked with the 28-year-old over the last couple of weeks but we are not sure Ole is ready to cash in on him.

Also, even if Man United do decide to send Jesse Lingard out on loan or sell him this month, the last thing their manager would want is to send him to a direct rival. So naturally clubs like West Ham, Spurs and the Blades are not the favourites to sign the England international right now.
