Rodrygo has won his second Champions League with Real Madrid but the forward could be on his way out of the club.

The Brazilian international has filled up his trophy cabinet during his five-year stay at the club but he’s been linked with an exit with clubs like Liverpool and Manchester City keeping tabs on him.

Several reports have suggested that Rodrygo will want to leave Madrid at the end of this season but squashing rumours, the 23-year-old has made it clear that he will not leave the Bernabeu.

“Of course, I’m gonna stay at Real Madrid,” Rodrygo told reporters after the UCL final on Saturday. “Why should I leave? I’m staying.”

Will Real Madrid sell Rodrygo this summer?

The club have signed Kylian Mbappe and many think the Frenchman’s arrival is going to put an end to Rodrygo’s time at the club.

Ancelotti has been using a 4-2-2-2 system this season and in this formation, Mbappe and Vinicius Jr will play up front. This leaves no room for Rodrygo however, we think the manager is going to tinker with his formation next campaign.

The 4-2-2-2 formation was primarily to cover the lack of a striker but next season, Mbappe is going to be used as a centre-forward with Vini and Rodrygo playing out wide.

Joselu’s future is in doubt and in such a situation, Perez will never agree to sell the Brazilian international. There’s no doubt that Liverpool and Manchester City will be ready to pay top dollar for the 23-year-old but he is very much a part of Madrid’s plans next season.

If Carlo sticks to his preferred 4-2-2-2 system, even then Rodrygo can be used as the backup to Mbappe so it makes zero sense to sell him to either Man City or Liverpool. Real Madrid can bring in around €120-130 million from Rodrygo’s sale but it will be really hard to find a quality replacement because not a lot of great left-wingers will be available in the market this summer.
