Chelsea news Willian
Willian playing for Chelsea

Willian is about to be a free agent in a couple of weeks time and clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in signing him up for the upcoming season.

The Chelsea winger recently extended his contract to finish the 2019-20 season but in an interview, his agent Kia Joorabchian has admitted that Willian has offers from two Premier League clubs and also from the MLS.

He told talkSPORT, via Football London: “I don’t think he’s done a U-turn or any kind of turn. He’s always been very much the same mode.

“We had two very big offers – one from MLS which required him to move on July 1 – but he’s always been in the same mode, saying, ‘I want to finish the season at Chelsea and the day after the season has finished I will make my decision’.

“He has two concrete offers from Premier League clubs on the table, he has an MLS offer on the table which is very big, and he’s got two other offers in Europe.

“So Willian is in a very good position and he is going to make his decision after the last game of the season.”

While his agent did not mention Arsenal and Spurs categorically but we can strongly assume that the North London clubs are the ones showing interest in him.

And while time and again Willian has made it clear that he wishes to remain in the Premier League but an offer from the MLS is a pretty lucrative one too.

Many European players do decide to join the American League during the twilight of their careers and it will not be a total surprise if the 31-year-old also chooses the same path.

But with the kind of performances which he has given this season, we do not think Willian will be too eager to head out to the US this summer.

Some rumours have suggested that Chelsea could offer him a new three-year deal at the club but with the arrival of Hakim Ziyech, there’s a very slim chance that the Brazilian will remain at the club next season.
