Manchester United have reached an agreement with Shakhtar Donetsk to sign their Brazilian midfielder Fred.
Fred, 25, will play for the Red Devils from the upcoming campaign and the Old Trafford outfit confirmed the deal on their official website on Tuesday.
The midfielder is on Brazil’s 23-man squad for the upcoming World Cup in Russia and the Brazilian team are currently involved in their pre-tournament practice in London.
And it was here that Fred’s international teammate and Chelsea winger Willian claimed that his fellow countryman will shine at Old Trafford.

When asked if the 25-year-old can make an impact in the Premier League, Willian said: “Of course, no doubt about that,
“He has a lot of quality and he can improve a lot.
“He is going to one of the best teams in the world. I am happy for him and hope he will do well at Manchester United.
“He’s very happy to come to the Premier League to play. We talked a little bit about that. He is excited to start.
“But now it is time to think about the World Cup. I think he is very happy but now is the time to think about the national team.”
Willian has himself been linked with a move to Manchester United during the summer with Jose Mourinho eager to bring his former player onboard at the Theatre of Dreams.
But these rumours were primarily based at the start of the year a point when the Brazilian was not receiving proper game time under Antonio Conte.
Since then Willian’s situation has improved quite a bit and now with a new manager coming in to replace Conte, Willian will surely feel that he can have a fresh lifeline at Stamford Bridge.
Having said all this though, the Blues are yet to find a replacement for Antonio Conte and Willian’s future at the club will only be decided once a new boss takes charge.
