Arsenal have a number of first-team players whose current deal at the club is set to expire at the end of the current season. But the biggest cause of concern for Arsene Wenger was undoubtedly Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez.

While Wenger lost out on Sanchez who moved to Manchester United but he has managed to tie down Mesut Ozil in a new deal which will keep him at the club until 2021.

After signing the new contract Mesut Ozil said: “It’s been one of the most important decisions of my footballing career and that’s why I had to think hard and talk with everyone who’s important to me.

“Good things take time! In the end, I let my heart decide. As I always said, I feel at home here and I’m highly motivated to achieve big things in the next few years. Once a Gunner, always a Gunner!”

Now according to report from SportBild, Mesut Ozil had rejected as many as four top clubs in order to stay in London.

The 29-year-old rejected offers from Manchester United, Barcelona and PSG before putting pen on paper to the new £350,000 a week contract at the Emirates.
