French winger Michael Olise is going to be hot property in the upcoming transfer window but clubs will have to shell out at least £60 million if they wish to land him in the summer, claims the BBC.

Chelsea had tried to sign him last summer but they could not strike a deal for the 22-year-old. The Blues were expected to come back this year as well but as per reports, they are no longer interested in him. Pochettino currently has Noni Maudeke who is a proper right-winger and even Cole Palmer has played extensively in that role so it makes sense that Chelsea do not wish to spend unnecessary money. The Blues might have backed off however, Manchester United and Arsenal remain firmly in the hunt for the Crystal Palace man.

Arsenal are looking to strengthen their attack in the summer by adding competition for Bukayo Saka while Manchester United are expected to offload Antony which means signing a right-winger will be one of their priorities. Manchester City have also been keeping an eye on the 22-year-old but the experts believe Michael Olise is not one of their priorities.

Should clubs be paying £60 million for Michael Olise?

Michael Olise made his senior debut for Crystal Palace in the 2021/22 season and since then, he’s played 86 games across all competitions for the Eagles.

Last season was his first big success as he contributed 11 assists in 40 games and he’s continued that form this season as well with 7 goals and 4 assists in 15 Premier League games for Palace. He has had a total of 36 shots on goal in 924 minutes of league football and he has an xG of 3.6 and an xA of 3.47.

Michael Olise is one of the top free-kick takers in the Premier League right now and he’s also a wonderful crosser of the ball. Unlike other wingers who refuse to track back, the Palace manager is a proper work-horse who repeatedly helps out his full-backs.

Whenever he’s been on the pitch, Michael Olise has been a reliable and impactful player for Palace but the youngster is a bit injury-prone. Last season, he missed 13 games due to a hamstring injury and this campaign, he’s been on the sidelines for 60 days due to a similar problem.

Olise’s contract with Crystal Palace expires in 2027 and his market value currently is around £43 million so the Eagles’ demands of £60 million seems very justified at this point. Arsenal might think long and hard before spending so much on a right-winger because they already have Bukayo Saka for that role but for Manchester United, this one is a no-brainer, especially if they have decided to sell Antony.

He’s someone who has the ability to shine at the top level given the chance but his injuries will be a bit of a concern because at clubs like United and Arsenal, Michael Olise will have to play around 50-55 games per season. So far, Michael Olise has missed 23 games during his Crystal Palace career and if his habit of picking up injuries continues then it will be a waste of money for whoever signs him.
