Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has not signed an attacking midfielder after Philippe Coutinho left for Barcelona claiming that he will not make any rash decisions in terms of signing a replacement. But now it seems that the Reds have finally settled for a replacement in the form of Ivan Rakitic.

By selling Coutinho to Barcelona, Liverpool have amassed a huge cash reserve and it seems that Klopp is planning to use that money in order to bring out the attacking midfielder from Camp Nou.

According to the Don Balon, the Merseyside outfit are eyeing a move for Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic during the summer transfer window.

Rakitic has been a mainstay at the heart of the Catalan midfielder for a couple of seasons now but the Croatian feels that his place in the first eleven can be threatened with the arrival of Coutinho.

Barcelona are also expected to sign Antoine Griezmann during the summer which will be another major cause of concern for Rakitic.

In such a scenario, the attacking midfielder could very well plan to move out of Spain and end the final fold of his career in a different league.

Italian giants Juventus are also said to be interested in the 29-year-old but if Liverpool do decide to enter the race they surely they can outrun the Serie A in terms of paying the required transfer fee for Rakitic.
