Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has received a huge boost ahead of his team’s clash against Manchester City as midfielder Ross Barkley returns to training.
The midfielder joined Chelsea during the January transfer window from Everton but since moving to Stamford Bridge the English International has failed to contribute anything to the Blues cause.
Barkley has played just 131 minutes of football during the course of 3 games for Chelsea and his last appearance came in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of AFC Bournemouth.
The Bournemouth match was played on the 31st of January and since that day the 24-year-old has been sidelined with a hamstring injury.
ROSS BARKLEY RETURNS TO TRAINING:
But Chelsea have revealed footage from their training ground at Cobham which shows Ross Barkley practising with the first team squad.
Summer signing Tiemoue Bakayoko is out with a knock – meaning that Antonio Conte up until now only had three midfielders fit. While N’Golo Kante and Fabregas have been the midfield duo of choice for the manager but last week against Manchester United, Antonio Conte decided to start with Danny Drinkwater instead of Fabregas.

And that decision backfired very badly for the Blues. Drinkwater failed to add any attacking creativity towards Chelsea’s game and they eventually lost the match 2-1.
Conte will hopefully not take that negative approach when they take on Man City at the Etihad on Sunday.
But as Ross Barkley returns to training, the Chelsea fans will be hoping that he can make it to the matchday squad against Manchester City on Sunday.
