January signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan has slammed a certain section of Arsenal fans after they defeated Watford at home on Sunday to end off the week on a positive note.

The Gunners were going through a terrible run of form having lost four matches on the trot but this past week the London outfit had a revival of sorts.

First, Wenger’s men defeated AC Milan in the Europa League Round of 16 clash in Italy and then they put out a very professional display against the Hornets at home on Sunday.

But after the match, Henrikh Mkhitaryan had a thing or two to say about the Arsenal fans.

Mkhitaryan said: “You know we are always playing for the fans and it doesn’t matter if they could have come today or not.

“We’re always playing for those who come and support us, who are really supporting us, they are real fans who are not just coming to the stadium when we are winning, we have nothing to say.

“Just thanks to the fans who were supporting today.”

The Armenian was clearly referring to the half-empty Emirates stadium during the Watford game. A large section of the Arsenal fans have decided to boycott the home games after the recent dip in form from the Gunners.
