Manchester City take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley on Tuesday and after three defeats within a span of one week, Guardiola’s men will be eager to get back to winning ways.

But the Spanish manager has revealed that his side will be without the services of a key player on Saturday.

Pep Guardiola has said that Sergio Aguero will be unavailable when Man City take on Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.

The Argentine has made only two substitute appearances since the international break and both have them have come during defeats against Manchester United and Liverpool.

And it was during the 3-2 defeat against United at the Etihad last weekend that Sergio Aguero injured himself once again after a challenge from Ashely Young.

Pep Guardiola has revealed that the striker has not been able to fully recover from that tackle and he came on against Liverpool in midweek only because the team needed his services.

The manager has made it clear that Aguero will not be taking any part at Wembley on Saturday meaning Gabriel Jesus will once again lead the line.

Aguero said: “We have problems, we have injuries. We are without a lot of players for the next game,

“Aguero is injured, he was injured before the game but made a huge effort to help us. That’s why he was not ready to start.

“After action from Ashley Young he could not train. After Tuesday’s game said he couldn’t run. Hopefully he will be ready for last games and World Cup.”

Midfielder Fernandinho is also an absentee owing to a suspension while John Stones is still not ready to be part of the first eleven.

Three defeats that too at the hands of their bitter rivals has surely rocked the Manchester City bandwagon but in reality the Citizens are still favourites to win the Premier League – thanks to a 13 points gap at the top of the table.
