Manchester United finished second on the Premier League table – by a fair distance and Jose Mourinho has publicly announced that his aim will be to win the title come next season.
And in order to do that the United boss is planning to bring in a couple of new signings during the summer transfer window.
In the past couple of weeks, a lot of possible transfer candidates have been put forward by various publications and now Spanish outlet Don Balon are claiming that Mourinho’s biggest target for the summer is Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos.
The Portuguese manager has been a long-term admirer of Kroos and the report suggests that Jose desperately wants him at Old Trafford.
Don Balon are also claiming that the United boss is also willing to provide Paul Pogba as part of the deal to sign Toni Kroos – such is the admiration for the German midfielder.
Pogba moved back to United from Juventus a couple of seasons back for a world record fee but the Frenchman has failed to recreate his Serie A magic here in the Premier League.
And recent news has also suggested that there is a significant crack in Pogba and Jose Mourinho’s relationship owing to which the United boss is not hesitating to part ways with his star player.
Manchester United are willing to offer Paul Pogba plus cash in exchange for Toni Kroos’ services in the hopes that such a big bid will urge Florentino Perez to consider selling his midfielder.
Real Madrid take on Liverpool in the Champions League final in Kiev on Saturday and if the Los Blancos manage to defeat the Reds then this will be their third consecutive Champions League title. And if that happens there is every chance that Toni Kroos might give moving out of the Bernabeu a serious thought in order to look for fresh challenges.
The report from the Spanish publication has not shed any more light on the deal and have also not mentioned the cash amount that Manchester United might want to over for Toni Kroos.
