Unai Emery was announced as the new Arsenal manager last week and the former PSG boss has already dived straight into the transfer market.

According to reports, Unai Emery has his sights set on Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele and he wants the 21-year-old to become his first major signing for Arsenal.

Dembele joined Barcelona in the summer of 2017 from Borussia Dortmund for an initial fee of €105 million, becoming the joint-second most expensive footballer ever alongside Paul Pogba at that time.

But his journey at the Camp Nou has been anything but rosy with constant injuries hampering his debut season.

Two major injuries kept the forward out of action for almost half the season resulting in him playing just 23 games for the Catalan giants.

Now according to reports in Spain, the Barcelona management no longer see Ousmane Dembele as a valuable asset and the club are planning to offload him during the summer transfer window.

Unai Emery’s biggest challenge come next season will be to bring Arsenal back amongst the big boys of European football and he feels that Ousmane Dembele will be the right man for that job.

But Barcelona’s eagerness to offload Dembele is not good news for Jose Mourinho and Manchester United.

The report suggests that the Catalans want Dembele out of Camp Nou in order to make way for Antoine Griezmann who is scheduled to join Barcelona in the summer.

A couple of months ago reports had suggested that Griezmann had agreed on a deal in principle to join the La Liga outfit at the end of the 2017-18 season but the French International quickly rubbished such rumours.

Now the approval to sell Ousmane Dembele is a clear indication that Griezmann is on his to Barcelona which is a clear setback and Jose Mourinho and his long-term plans at Old Trafford.
