According to Football Insider, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is now open to selling Aaron Ramsdale at the end of the ongoing season.

Aaron Ramsdale was a consistent performer for Arsenal last campaign but David Raya’s arrival in the summer has pushed the England international down the pecking order.

For the first few matches, Arteta was relying on Ramsdale as his number one but as the months have rolled along, Raya has become the first-choice keeper for Arsenal. So far, Ramsdale has started only four Premier League matches and with the way things are going, there’s no way he is going to move above David Raya.

Initially, it was being claimed that Arteta has no plans to sell Aaron Ramsdale but it’s very evident that Raya is going to be the long-term keeper for the Gunners which is probably why the Arsenal manager has changed his mind.

Which clubs will want to sign Aaron Ramsdale?

It’s hardly a surprise that Mikel Arteta has decided to offload Ramsdale and we think he was just waiting to see if David Raya falters or not. Now that Raya has properly settled in, Arteta can confidently get rid of Ramsdale and by doing so, Arsenal will be able to bring in a fair amount of money as well.

The first alternative for Aaron Ramsdale is Chelsea who are keeping a close watch on his situation and once he is put up for sale, Pochettino’s side will definitely make a move for him.

The Blues are looking for a new keeper despite signing Roberto Sanchez in the summer and because Ramsdale’s contract with Arsenal expires in 2026, Chelsea won’t have to spend an insane amount of money.

Despite the lack of gaming time, Aaron Ramsdale remains a top talent which is why Arteta won’t be too eager to sell him to a direct rival. This will be a good thing for Bayern Munich who are the other club who’ve shown an interest in the 25-year-old.

Arsenal will be more than happy to see him move to Germany so either Chelsea will have to overpay for him or they will have to convince Ramsdale to snub Bayern and join them next season.

As the months roll along, several other sides will also join this race so it’s very hard to name a clear favourite right now but one thing’s for sure, unless David Raya suffers a massive dip in form, Aaron Ramsdale has no future at the Emirates Stadium.
