As per a report by Calciomercato, Premier League side Arsenal are interested in signing Real Madrid’s 23-year-old midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

Tchouameni joined the Los Blancos in 2022 and this season, he has become one of the mainstays in Ancelotti’s midfield. He’s started 11 out of the 12 league matches that Madrid have played this season and right now, he is one of the best central midfielders in European football.

The 23-year-old has rapidly made a name for himself at the club and this campaign, he’s been constantly keeping players like Modric and Toni Kroos on the bench.

Arsenal have paid a hell lot of money for Declan Rice but Mikel Arteta is now actively looking for a replacement for Thomas Partey and it seems like the Arsenal manager wants Tchouameni to be that man.

Aurelien Tchouameni is one of the four regular midfield pillars for Real Madrid this season and it’s very hard to see them cash in on the French midfielder after just two seasons. However, the 23-year-old has just suffered a fractured foot during this weekend’s El Clasico and he could be on the sidelines for around two months.

An official statement read(as quoted): “After tests carried out on our player (Tchouaméni), the medical team has communicated that he has an incomplete stress fracture in the second metatarsal of his left foot.”

Up until now, Tchouameni has been undroppable for Madrid but these two months can change everything. If Carlo Ancelotti can find a way to make things work without the French midfielder then Arsenal have a chance to land him.

Also, currently, Madrid are playing without a proper centre-forward this season which is why Ancelotti has the luxury of using four midfielders but once they sign a striker next summer, the manager has to sacrifice one midfielder. They did not have time to find a replacement for Benzema last summer but if everything works well Madrid will bring in Kylian Mbappe at the end of this season and then they will go back to a familiar 4-2-3-1 formation.

If players like Valverde and Camavinga can become consistent during Tchouameni’s absence then there’s every chance Perez could cash in on him. Having said this, Tchouameni is currently valued at €90 million and his contract expires in 2028 so the Gunners will have to a hell lot of money to sign him.

Aurelien Tchouameni will be the perfect replacement for Thomas Partey who’s been massively injury-prone during his time in England and Mikel Arteta is very eager to get rid of him but at this stage, it seems nearly impossible for Arsenal to get their hands on the midfielder.
