San Siro Inter Milan

According to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, centre-back Alessandro Bastoni is not interested in leaving Inter despite interest from some of the biggest Premier League clubs.

Manchester United, Spurs and Manchester City are all interested in signing the centre-back but the 23-year-old has said that he is very much happy and willing to remain with the San Siro outfit.

Alessandro Bastoni joined Inter in 2017 and after moving around on several loan spells, the defender has been a mainstay in Inter’s defence since 2019. This past season, he played in 31 league games and has a rating of 7.21 out of 10.

Inter are in desperate need of funds so almost every player in their squad is indispensable at the moment but since Alessandro Bastoni does not wish to leave, the Serie A side have a tough decision to make.

Which of the three English sides needs Bastoni the most?

Manchester City are ready to release Nathan Ake this summer but even after his departure, Guardiola will have some very solid central defenders. City currently have some of the best centre-backs in England in the form of Ruben Dias, Stones and Laporte so they are in the least need of someone like Alessandro Bastoni.

Manchester United, on the other hand, are prioritising the signing of a new central defender because Harry Maguire has been really poor in the previous season. Ten Hag is still not sure if Maguire is the right partner for Varane so the Red Devils are constantly being linked with ball-playing centre-backs.

However, Spurs are the ones who are the most inclined to land Alessandro Bastoni because Antonio Conte wants to be reunited with the 23-year-old.

Conte is rebuilding the squad in his own image and Bastoni is being viewed as his defensive leader for the next season. It’s being claimed that the ex-Inter manager has been in constant touch with Bastoni, in the hopes of convincing him for a move to North London.

Will Inter refuse to sell Alessandro Bastoni?

Inter have serious financial woes so they have to sell some of their most important players during the ongoing transfer window.

Batoni and Lautaro Martinez are two of the biggest stars in the Inter squad and the Nerazzurri have to cash in on at least one of them.

The experts are claiming that a fee of around €70 million will be enough to break Inter’s will and if any of the interested clubs are willing to pay such a steep amount then Bastoni’s opinion won’t matter.

Lautaro Martinez has also said that he is happy with life at Inter and now Alessandro Bastoni has also expressed the same desires but if Inter need to balance their books then they have to get rid of at least of them.
