As many as a dozen clubs have bee linked with a move for Alfredo Morelos this summer transfer window – as per reports.

And most pundits are pretty confident that Rangers will offload him sometime in the coming few weeks as the likes of Marseille and Leicester ramp up their interest.

But now former Celtic and Liverpool player, Sir Kenny Dalglish has predicted that the Ibrox outfit will not likely sell off Alfredo Morelos towards the dying end of the transfer window.

“He[Alfredo Morelos] has been linked with clubs in the past month, but there’s been no concrete bids, from what we are being told.” Sir Kenny Dalglish wrote.

“As Steven said the other day, if any club wants to sign the striker, then they need to act quickly.

“Rangers will not want to sell a player at the last minute who scores 30 goals.

“All things being equal, Morelos is the kind of talent you’d want to hang onto, but there is the disciplinary issue still hanging over him and it remains to be seen if he will clean that up in the new campaign.

“His goals can help Rangers win silverware, but his red cards can also be very damaging.

“He is not a young boy. He’s 23 and he needs to show a greater level of maturity and calmness. He came off the bench to score in Gibraltar, and that was good for him.”

A couple of days back, Steven Gerrard had also spoken on the same lines when he told the reporters that he will only sanction the sale of Alfredo Morelos in case he has time to bring in a proper replacement.

“As a club, we haven’t got a decision to make because a bid hasn’t come in. Will it? Possibly, Gerrard had said.

“However, if it does happen, it won’t happen late. If someone wants to spend a lot of money on a centre forward and they want to take my centre forward, they’d have to come early.

“If he did end up going, he would be impossible to replace with only days or weeks remaining in the window.

“We don’t want him to go, we don’t want to sell him. But we all know every player has a price and I’m not going to sit here and say he’s not going out the door.

“If a bid lands that the board like and they want to accept, it’s a completely different conversation, but that hasn’t happened. The chairman is on the same page as me. We don’t have to sell and don’t want to sell.

“We understand that if a crazy bid lands on the table, you have to treat it seriously. But, if teams plan to wait until the last week of the window, they’re wasting their time.”
